Who is your favorite heroine?

DIRECTOR - Gregory Ramos

Is an actor, director, playwright, and theatre educator originally from Los Angeles, California. He completed his MFA in Playwriting at UCLA and studied acting at Playwrights Horizons in New York and privately with academy award winner, Ellen Burstyn. He is certified in the Meisner acting approach through the True Acting Institute. Gregory has directed plays and musicals at numerous professional theatres and universities. Much of his original work is based on interviews. Two of these are solo performance plays. Border Stories is based on interviews with LGBT people living on the U.S – Mexico border and When We Danced was written after interviewing senior and elderly LGBT people around the country. He has performed both at arts venues and theatre festivals throughout the U.S. His play for young audience’s Cuentos de Josefina (Josephine’s Tales) is available through YouthPLAYS. Gregory is a proud member of The Lincoln Center Director’s Lab and Actor’s Equity Association. His current work in progress is a play about gun violence and community, based on interviews he conducted in El Paso, Texas after a mass shooting at a Walmart in August 2019.

 

His favorite heroine is Dorothy from the 1939 film – The Wizard of Oz (for obvious reasons!)

SCENIC AND LIGHTING DESIGNER  - Trevor Norton

Director of Production at University of Redlands. Regional credits include Lighting Designs with The Old Globe Theatre, San Jose Rep, San Diego Rep, Shakespeare Festival LA, Pasadena Playhouse, La Jolla Playhouse, The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, A Noise Within, Lobero Theatre, Bottom’s Dream, Wheeler Opera House, Mark Taper New Works Festival, LA Theatre Works, and many more. Trevor teaches Design and Stage Management and is proud of the work of his students past and present.

 

Favorite heroine is Beryl Markham, an author and pilot. Because she lived a life of adventure and thought deeply about the world around her.

COSTUME DESIGNER - Jenny Foldenauer Lia

Is a Los Angeles and New York City Designer. Select credits: Hooray for Hollywood, Transcendence Theatre Co. Winner of Best Costume Design of a Play or Musical 2022 Broadway World San Francisco. ASSISTANT LIGHTING DESIGNER - Raine O'Hollaren

(She/They) Johnston Program, Sophomore

is a sophomore majoring within the Johnston program with an emphasis in Theatre and Design. She is the Assistant Lighting Designer and is super excited.

 

Her favorite heroine is Luz Noceda from the Owl House because she is perseverant, kind and doesn’t give up on people.

ASSISTANT COSTUME DESIGNER - Lillian Abild

(She/Her) Creative Writing & English Literature, Junior

Is excited to be a part of this production!

 

Her favorite heroine is Jo March from Little Women because of her passion and drive for writing as a woman.

ASSISTANT SCENIC DESIGNER - Nicole Stidham

(She/Her) Theatre Business, Junior

Nicole is a junior at the University of Redlands and the assistant scenic designer for this production. She is a theatre business major, and this is her first time set designing for a show. Thanks to Trevor for giving her this opportunity and for helping along the way! She thanks you for coming and hopes you enjoy the show.

 

Miss Piggy is Nicole’s favorite heroine because she is fierce and independent.

STAGE MANAGER - Charly McShane

(She/Her) Theatre, Senior

She is in her last year of college and will be graduating in the spring with a degree in Theatre. She is so grateful for this opportunity and wants to thank the theatre department and her family for all their support.

 

Also, her favorite heroine is Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson series because she is strong, smart and has literally held the world on her shoulders.

ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER - Jayden King

(She/Her) English Literature/Theatre (minor), Sophomore

Jayden is a sophomore is and is excited to assistant stage manage for the first time!

 

Currently, her favorite heroine is Jude Duarte from a book series called The Folk of the Air.
